Women Who Inspire: A Series on Creative Entrepreneurs August 26 2016, 0 Comments
I am SUPER excited to announce a new series to Winifred Grace, Women Who Inspire: The Creative Entrepreneur. In collaboration with my good friend Bradley Murray from Square 56, we celebrate the many bold and brilliant leaders who have inspired me along my entrepreneurial journey. Some of these women I have known for years, and some I have only just met, but all are people I admire in a profound way for their bravery in pursuit of their dreams. For me, these women embody who I imagine the Winifred Grace customer to be. Here is a look at the first in our series, the irresistibly joyful Molly Kobelt from Field & Florist.
Molly Kobelt / Field & Florist
Name: Molly Kobelt
Name of your business: Field & Florist
What is Field & Florist?
Field & Florist is a Chicago-based flower farm and florist. We offer floral arrangement and styling for weddings and special events, as well as wholesale flowers for the floral industry.
When did you start your business?
Heidi started the company in 2012 and I joined shortly thereafter in 2013
How does your work define you?
Field & Florist is very much an expression of my upbringing - I grew up watching my dad, who is a landscape architect, master of his craft and was taught to respect the natural world. My work represents my outlook on life, from the way I eat, cook and entertain and also the way I want to live my life, with a balance of farm life and city life.
Field & Florist also represents my appreciation for beautiful things and being able to create work to punctuate the important moments in people's lives. Sharing the flowers we grow adds another layer of meaning to the designs because we have a deep connection to them. We nurture the plants from seedling stage to bloom and provide our clients with a sustainably grown beautiful product.
As Heidi and I evolve personally, so does Field & Florist. Each year we make changes to better meet the needs of our clients and ourselves for a more balanced and fulfilled life.
Film produced by Bradley Murray at Square56Pro. Our thanks to everyone who participated!
